To promote Islamic teachings, the board started following distance Islamic Courses in 2002.

Overview
Board Exams are conducted in around 200 centers- These courses are conducted in four languages, Urdu, Kannada, English and Hindi
- In the year 2002 around 2500 students took up the courses. In 2003, they were 4500, Next year the streangth rose to 9000. Later in 2005 it was 11000. Last year around 12500 students appeared.
At present the Board of Islamic Education, Karnataka and Goa has :
- 200 examination centers
- 180 center organizers
- 70 inspectors to monitor exams
- 12 valuation centers
Alhamdulillah, even non Muslims students participated in the courses. In the year 2004 around 50 non Muslim studens joined the courses. their strength increased to 64 in 2005. Last year 164 of them took part. A gem from this section Veena Kumari secured topped the state in 2004, she secured 95% marks.
