The board conducts educational awareness campaign in collaboration with Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO) each year. After extensive survey of the backward areas, dropouts are readmitted and helped with books, uniforms etc. Some deserving children are adopted. For effective awareness, Friday sermons are prepared and distributed among the ulema.
In the year 2003, around 119 schools were been surveyed. Few of these were adopted. A considerable amount was spent on it for infrastructures development such as; renovation of structures, drinking water facility, sports items, toilets, etc. Teachers' workshops were also conduced to emphasize on the elevation of educational standards.
To set right the State Syllabus
Board representatives meeting with educational ministerIt was inevitable to make a thorough study of the government syllabus, since a number of objectionable content regarding Islam and Muslims is carried into it, resulting in misunderstandings among the students. If corrective measures had not been taken, it would spoil the mind of lakhs of students.
The board has carried out extensive studies every time the new syllabus is introduce. A panel of experienced teachers, makes a detailed study. This report is submitted to the Education minister and the honourable governor.
Alhamdulillah, this has been a successful endeavor. In the year 2002, around 21 mistakes were pointed out. Around 15 of them were eliminated from the books printed in 2003. Similar exercise was carried out in 2004 and 2006 also. This time it was found that even the Indian history was presented in a fabricated manner. In the social science text book of SSLC, it was stated that Sir Syed Aimed Khan had opposed 'Purdah'. Regarding Arabs it was mentioned that organization like Al-Qaida was present there, which is lead by Usama Bin Laden. In a book of 7th standard, it is mentioned about the fascist outfit RSS that it was formed to safeguard Hindu religion and culture. When around 12 such mistakes were pointed out, even the education minister was astonished. He has assured to eliminate it in the next year text books. A study was submitted to the chairman of Minority Commission, Jb Hamid Ansaari, during his visit to Bangalore.
